Successful Fundraising Dinner!

Thank you for your prayers and participation in our spaghetti dinner fundraiser today. We collected $1000 to be used toward our mission! Thanks to everyone who helped set up, prepared food, brought desserts and cleaned up.

Special thanks to our team for sharing the vision of the mission with our church and special visitors from the neighborhood. It was a successful day in many ways!

THEY ARE OFF!

We are very happy to let you know that Uganda Team ’08 is now (or should be) taking off on their plane (AA630) from Orlando to New York. The weather is great and all is on schedule. The entire flight should take about 18 hours.

We had a grand send off for them last evening with a good meal (in St. Luke’s Fashion)…..thanks to everyone who came out to pray together and wish them well. They arrived in Orlando around 11:30pm & began their repacking. Believe it or not! They managed to get EVERYTHING that our very generous parishioners donated AND at no extra cost. (The miracles have already begun:-)!

Please continue to pray for their safety; that everyone is one with God and that He takes their hands when or if they forget to take His; pray for good health and Christian bonding; pray that their luggage follows them. Also please pray that they view any obstacle as merely a stepping stone to get them where God wants them to be.

We have a two prayer requests that directly affect our Team: Chris Needham’s mother, Betty Schmidt is very ill with a bacteria in her colon. Pray that Chris will continue to have peace, energy and patience as she lovingly cares for her mother and that the doctors have wisdom. Also, Mimi Burbank, Bishop Jaclson's assistant in Kasese, has a blockage in her kidneys. Please pray for healing and the funds to seek non-invasive care.

If you feel led to contribute to the Team, several members are still in need, please feel free to do so. There are envelopes on the table in the Narthex or, you can simply mail a check made out to St. Luke’s Anglican Fellowship, 3725 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32311.

Thank you so much and God Bless each of you & yours. Trish

Hi Everyone, Sat June 7th

Our team arrived safely in Mukono (Uganda Christian University) yesterday afternoon at 1pm our time & 9pm theirs. Fr. Jim informed Chris that all is going well with no glitches (I hope that translates to the wire reaching themJ). He also said that his shoulder and David’s back are both better – Praise GodJ!

The weather is to be comfortable tomorrow and they will be off on their tour in a few short hours.

We will keep you informed. Please keep them in your prayers: that they remain healthy (Kermit just called and would you believe I forgot his Malaria medsL - fortunately, he can borrow one till he gets home) & happy & that they follow His will with a glad heart.

In Him,

Trish
